I had a dream.
A short dream.
A strange dream.
I woke with one image strong in my mind.
And a short message that felt like a last plea from someone else.
Of things unfinished.
Just one more thing to be done.
And he could have gone in peace.
Yes, it was a man from what I felt and heard.
A photographer.
He had made beautiful photos all his life.
Now, he had the idea for a new kind of photo.
An artistic photo.
Simple, yet also with a message.
He had it all set up.
He only had waited for the right moment to make the shot.
But that moment never came for him.
His life ended before he could take this one photo.
Now, he was restless.
Searching.
Asking for help.
Anyone that would be willing to help.
That would be able to hear him.
He sent out his idea of the photo as the last thing on his mind.
Not his name.
Nothing of all that he had achieved in his life.
No.
Only the image and that, please, someone make it for him.
That was what I could remember from that dream.
And the image he had wanted to do.
That dream was in April 2010.
The next morning I went into my garden and set up the photo as I could remember it.
And took the photo too.
There was something missing though.
In my dream, I had seen something scurry across the image.
A thin black thing like a spider.
I had waited a few hours for a spider to come.
To no avail.
Before I, too, would not get to make the photo, I just took it without the spider.
Maybe, I could add it later with some software.
I never got around to doing that though.
I did not have the right software.
And to me it felt that a spider would be somehow a bit out of place on my photo.
It wasn't until a year later approximately that I had the idea of adding a poem to the cropped version of this photo.
Yes, the message was still not "out there".
Taking the photo alone was no help at all.
So I wrote the poem.
I even made a German version to it.
I had it placed in the calendar of the art club in my village together with the photo.
Still not many took notice of it.
Then I joined G+ and also got a blog.
I posted it there.
But, I still did not have many followers.
So again only a few had seen it.
Today I had the urge to add a story as to why I took this photo.
This one I had been requested to help in doing in my dream.
And now, I think, I know that the spider was not to be IN the photo at all.
That it most probably was only "he" that had fled from the image.
The image was the important thing for me to remember.
Not him, or anything else about him.
Just that one image.
And the "message" he had wanted to express with it.
I had to use my own words to express this message.
It is not his message alone anymore.
But also a part of my message.
That there is more to the eye than can be seen.
A whole world hidden.
It is up to each one of us to discover this world.
And all the others.
Here the link to the post I had made now 9 months ago:
Beneath
and the photo:
For my art exhibition I had used this photo again; printed on canvas.
And placed a nest with a white clay bird on top of it.
So, as you can see, this photo has gone through some changes.
Like life goes through changes.
But one thing is certain: you will never find the right moment.
If you feel you have to take a photo, make a painting, be creative,
then don't wait for the right moment to comer along.
No.
Just do it as soon as you can.
Right now if necessary.
That too is part of the shared message from his plea.
That had been in my dream.
And now is part of my reality.
The dream has influenced my reality.
Do your dreams influence your reality too?
Don't be scared about it.
It's a gift, a wondrous present for you.
Embrace it.
Use it.
Or ignore it, if that's your wish.
You can choose.
I chose to use it.
Whenever I can.

Radio Storms - in our Solar System
There is always something new to discover and experience. This time I was fascinated by the sounds of the radio storm recorded from Jupiter.
This one was on Jupiter a few nights ago.
Turn on your speakers and listen to it.

Two nights ago, there was a storm on Jupiter--a radio storm. Amateur radio astronomer Thomas Ashcraft recorded the event using a shortwave radio telescope located in New Mexico. Click on the dynamic spectrum (a plot of intensity vs. frequency vs. time) to hear the whooshing, crackling, popping sounds that emerged from his telescope's loudspeaker.
"Listen to the recording in stereo," advises Ashcraft. "I recorded the audio from two separate radios at 21.1 MHz and 20.9 MHz, so there is a stereo spatial effect from the frequency drift of the emissions."Jupiter's radio storms are caused by natural radio lasers in the planet's magnetosphere that sweep past Earth as Jupiter rotates. Electrical currents flowing between Jupiter's upper atmosphere and the volcanic moon Io can boost these emissions to power levels easily detected by ham radio antennas on Earth. Jovian "S-bursts" and "L-bursts" mimic the sounds of woodpeckers, whales, and waves crashing on the beach. Here are a few audio samples: S-bursts, S-bursts (slowed down 128:1), L-BurstsNow is a good time to listen to Jupiter's radio storms. The distance between Earth and Jupiter is decreasing as the giant planet approaches opposition on Dec. 3rd; the closer Jupiter gets, the louder it gets. NASA's Radio Jove Project explains how to build your own receiver.
As a kid I loved to turn the radio dial all the way to the end to hear all the squeaking and squawking and "white" noise, imagining it was aliens communicating with us.
But maybe, it just was Earth and space. ;-)
And Earth's magnetic field "sings" too.
or here:
There are many more sounds in space, we just need to learn to listen to them.
It's not only with our eyes that we can perceive wonders. Our complete body can.
Ears, skin, and other sensitive parts we might not even be aware of yet.
We just need to be "quiet" to sense those not so direct interactions of us with what surrounds us. Technical things can help, but some things not even those can perceive.

An Instance of Feeling of Timelessness
Have you every had the feeling that something is wrong and it takes you a while (one that seems to be ages but is only seconds or even nanoseconds) to realize what it is? As if time either stood still or that there was no time at all. An instance of timelessness.
Well, today I had such an instance.
At work we have this "Senseo" coffee machine as shown above (but in blue).
I felt like having a hot cup of decaffeinated coffee (can't make green tea with that machine :( ).
So I did all the routine things you need to get that one cup of coffee done.
While it would heat up the water I went away and did some work.
A few minutes later (I know the approximate time it needs) I went back to the machine and pressed the button on the right (the one for double amount of water - for a big cup).
Now time seemed to stretch.
I heard the machine start, pumping the hot water up to the pad.
I could smell the first drops of steaming coffee.
I saw the coffee come out of the outlets.
I followed the stream of coffee downwards.
I saw it pass all the way to the grid.
NO CUP!!!
Where is the cup?
Had I forgotten to place it underneath? I couldn't remember.
My co-worker was still on the phone.
A truck passed outside casting a big shadow.
It's still cloudy outside.
The coffee is still running - but not making a mess on the table.
Why? Where did it go?
AH!! There is a flat bowl under the grid.
The coffee flows into it.
I better place the cup into the stream of coffee before the bowl overflows.
Where is that cup?
Better turn off the machine.
Press the middle button once.
The coffee stops streaming.
How do I get the coffee out of that bowl under the grid?
Hm.
Oh, the grid can be removed.
Big smile.
Lift the grid.
Take the cup from the small shelf next to the sink (that's where it has been the whole time).
Place it on the table next to the machine.
Carefully take the nearly full bowl and pour the coffee from it into the cup.
Wash out the bowl.
Replace the bowl to the machine.
Wash the grid and replace that as well.
PUT THE CUP UNDERNEATH THE OUTLETS.
Restart the machine.
The co-worker is finished with the phone.
I go to her to ask if she would like to have a cup of coffee too?
No, thank you.
I go back to see with wonder that the cup is nearly overflowing now and the water tank much emptier than it usually is.
I turn off the machine and do the routine to finish the coffee brewing (i.e. removing the used pad).
I take my overfull cup carefully as not to spill any and sip off the first few mouthful before I walk with it to my workplace again.
Overall, watching the coffee stream from the machine over stopping it and then finally having my coffee did not take any longer than usual.
But to me it seemed to have been longer than that. As if it was a moment of timelessness.
And it was, as if I could see myself standing there, watching in wonder how the coffee flows out of the machine and into the grid.
Like a child that sees this for the very first time. Not aware of the fact that this was not the way it was supposed to be.
And then all fell back into the "reality"and I could take the action needed in this situation. I was back "in time".
